pH is the measurement of a solution's acidity or alkalinity, and it plays a vital role in hydroponics for optimal plant health and growth. It directly impacts nutrient availability and absorption, which are crucial for plant development. Hydroponic systems commonly use pH meters and pH adjustment solutions, like pH up (alkaline) or pH down (acidic) solutions, to monitor and modify pH levels as required. These adjustments help ensure that plants receive the nutrients they need for thriving in a soilless environment.

Every plant has its specific pH requirement to grow healthy. Try to maintain the pH in these desired ranges for healthy growth. In general, recommended pH range for leafy greens is 5.5 - 6.5 and for veggies like tomatoes, and cucumbers is 6.0 - 7.0

How to use City Greens pH solution?

1. Add a little of the pH liquid to the nutrient solution.

2. Wait for 5-10 minutes and check the pH reading.

If the pH value is in the desired range, you can stop adding further pH solution.
Else, repeat steps 1 and 2.

NOTE: Do not add more than 0.5ml per litre in one go.

What safety measures should one follow while storing & using pH Down solution?

Store the liquid in a cool and dark place. Keep the solution out of reach of children.


pH adjusters are corrosive and may cause burns. Use protective gear like hand gloves and if possible eye goggles.

Try to avoid contact with clothing, skin, eyes, and do not swallow.



First aid measures to be taken if the pH liquid falls on the skin, in the eyes, or is swallowed.

FOR SKIN

If this pH liquid falls on the skin, immediately remove any contaminated clothing and rinse the affected area thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Avoid scrubbing the skin, as it may cause further irritation. If irritation or burns persist, seek medical attention.

FOR EYES

If pH liquid falls into the eyes, it is crucial to immediately flush the eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention for further guidance and evaluation. Do not delay rinsing, as prompt action can help minimize potential damage to the eyes.

IF SWALLOWED

If the pH liquids is swallowed, try to help the person to sip water if he can swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed to do so by medical professionals. Immediately seek medical attention for further guidance. Provide as much information as possible about the substance ingested.
